Polycrystalline mullite fiber  are made of alumina crystal fibers, containing no binders or other additives. The maximum service temperature can reach 1600°C. The facing blocks are produced by cutting and compressing fiber blankets. 

When used continuously at this temperature in oxidizing, neutral, or slightly reducing atmospheres, they retain their original toughness, strength, softness, and fiber structure without shot content, offering excellent thermal insulation performance. They are a high-tech industrialized product.
